Medical Intuition for professionals

Studies have shown that 85% of major decisions by chief executive officers involved intuition as a major factor.

Carl Jung was a fan, and Einstein famously said, ‘ The intuitive mind is a secret gift on the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society the honors the servant and has forgotten the gift’.

As a health professional of many years I stick to my area of expertise, medical intuition, an area perhaps more researched than is realized. For instance it’s been shown that our communication 90% of information is conveyed in a non-verbal way, using all of the senses.

As someone who specializes in the energy between people, I have developed an online courses for health professionals of all types, to increase what is an innate ability.

For many reasons including time pressures, medico-legal implications, paperwork and necessities of technical interventions, the client therapist  non-verbal relationship has been relegated to the back-burner.

However, from a patient’s perspective when the describe a health professional as, ‘Being really great’, they actually mean that they had a good relationship and felt that the doctor intuitively understood them.

PREREQUISITE FOR MEDICAL INTUITION

Defined by Merriam- Webster as, ‘Immediate apprehension or cognition’ , a nature journal on dentists have shown that what they call ‘domain expertise’ is not sufficient. ‘Domain expertise’ means that to be good at this medical intuitive skill it’s necessary to be actually qualified and have specialist knowledge. For example a naturopath, psychologist or chiropractor would have spent years studying.

In addition, working experience of a minimum of five years of additional practicing is required before the intuition skill allows the expert who has stored information in subconscious frameworks, to extract the data without conscious thought at a rapid rate. {https://www.nature.com/articles/sj.bdj.2016.942}

To get an idea, imagine a fireman trying to make instant life and death decisions- fires everywhere, winds from all directions, people trapped…

Like him, we need a skill to use specially in decisions that have time constraints, or problems that are complex or ambiguous in nature. Perhaps, even, there’s a lack of scientific evidence on which to make decision making, so we need to bring a hat out of the box. We’re talking about a highly complex sophisticated cognitive structure that gives fast and and accurate responses. Fortunately we have this – in our brain and  consciousness, perfectly made for this type of job.

So, medical intuition is useful in any type of patient-centered therapy and is a form of non-verbal communication. Learning to be a medical intuitive help us to be quicker at getting to the root of a patient’s problem, and also quicker to plot out the best path of healing for them.

It has the added benefit of assisting in therapist resilience, as with intuition we have awareness of what they patient may or may not like, what may not work. Also, greater job satisfaction leads to greater resilience

SCIENTIFIC BASIS OF MEDICAL INTUITION

Having discussed the psychological basis, we can look at scientific, in terms of quantum biology, holographic resonance, and quantum phenomena.
